About Heather

My story

I am a designer of [almost] anything.
No, really. I have created brands, brochures, billboards and bike racks.

I am a design & communications professional with over 20 years of experience and success starting as an Art Director with Chicago advertising firm Kennedy and Associates. I am a member of The Society of Graphic Designers of Canada, the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs, Island Women in Science and Technology, The Women’s Club of Evanston, and The Union Club of British Columbia.

My current and past projects include website design, development and deployment; corporate branding; and audio and video production. My clients include the City of Victoria, Black Press Media, Daniel Lapp’s House of Music Society, Pacific Western Brewing, the Greater Victoria Public Library, Mount St. Mary Hospital, Betterthan50®, Island BMW, and the Downtown Victoria Business Association.

I also believe in giving back to the communities I live in. Since moving to Canada in 2002, I have participated in a diverse range of volunteer activities, including co-chairing the 2004 St. Michaels University School Spring Fair; serving on the advisory Board of the Greater Victoria Film Commission; sitting on the Board of Directors of the Victoria Symphony; and participating as the Media and Marketing Coordinator for the 2003 Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Run for the Cure in Victoria. In 2010, I served on the Organizing Committee for the Homecoming Centennial Statue to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Canadian Navy, and chaired the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island (QA Foundation) events Bear Wear and the Butterfly Ball in 2011.

What my clients and collaborators say

I’ve had pleasure working with Heather for over 10 years. Heather is extremely professional in her business approach, very efficient and reliable. I found her to be honest, very focused in delivering and maintaining a superior service. I would gladly recommend her for any design and marketing project.

Mirko Filipovic

President and Owner of Themis Security Services Ltd.

Heather was a key partner in the Homecoming Statue Committee that celebrated the Canadian Navy Centennial by establishing “Homecoming Plaza” on Wharf Street in Victoria. She designed and maintained the promotional website and designed all of the print materials that were so vital to the success of the project. Her advice on how to gain the best value for the non-profit budget was an inestimable value added feature of her service. She is straight forward in her manner and a delight to work with.
